Affordable Housing in San Jose

House Picture

RSVP Today!

November 20, 2008 7pm to 9pm
Yu-Ai Kai, 588 N. Fourth Street, Room 300 (3rd floor), San Jose, CA 95112

Do you ever stop and wonder whether you will ever be able to afford a house? Are housing prices too high for you to even consider purchasing a home? Join us in an in-depth discussion with the City of San José Housing Department regarding affordable housing and the proposed policy to increase affordable housing. The Department welcomes all questions and comments.

All of the documents related to the Department’s study of a citywide inclusionary housing program can be found on the Housing Department’s website (www.sjhousing.org).

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the City of San José Housing Department via email at inclusionarystudy@sanjoseca.gov or by phone (408) 535-3860.

Background: The City of San José faces important challenges in providing affordable housing for all income levels, given the high cost housing market and limited public dollars for financing affordable housing production. As a result, the City is exploring other options to increase the production of affordable housing. One option is to expand the City’s current inclusionary housing requirement in redevelopment project areas Citywide.

What is inclusionary housing?  Inclusionary housing requires all new residential developments to have a certain number of homes and apartments available to lower and moderate income individuals and families.

Registration begins at 6:30pm
